The Princess & The Pendant

Summer 2006

This silhouette animation was inspired by the work of 1920’s filmmaker Lotte Reiniger and was made with Year 1 children from Hartside Primary School, Crook County Durham. Through discussion and drama the children shared their ideas to help in the development of this original storyline. It’s a tale of a young girl who ignores the wishes of her father and ventures from her home in Butterfly Land.
